University of Denver's Science and Technology "SciTech" Summer Camp is for middle school-aged students interested in learning about biodiversity and ecology, computer programming, technology, physics and astronomy.
Run entirely by DU faculty, this unique experience provides SciTech campers hands-on experiences building computers and learning about microscopes, telescopes and more.
2023 Dates: June 26-30, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Team-building exercise for girls on the first day of camp
SciTech campers assemble their own telescopes and learn to use them.
Campers, peer counselors, graduate students and faculty from 2017 DU SciTech Summer Camp.
Campers learn about and build basic circuits with LED lights and play-doh.
SciTech campers learn about taxonomic diversity and create a professional insect collection.
Previous campers contributed to and co-authored a publication on the impact of streetlights on invasive grass species!
Eligibility
Students who have completed grades 5, 6, 7 or 8 are welcome to apply. There is very limited space available.
Please note, this camp is designed to provide access to the sciences for youth who would otherwise not have that privilege due to financial constraints.
For that reason, the camp will be FREE for those whose families can demonstrate financial need.
