The DU SHINE program provides Denver Public Schools students with opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on research experiences at the University of Denver. Supported by the National Science Foundation, the program helps introduce high school students to university-level STEM learning and research.

This summer, the Department of Chemistry hosted eight student participants, providing opportunities to engage with research in a university setting while exploring future educational and career pathways in STEM. Through hands-on learning and exposure to research environments, students gained firsthand experience with the types of opportunities available in science and related fields.

Programs such as DU SHINE help broaden access to STEM experiences and encourage the next generation of scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and innovators.
