Physics Day at Elitch Gardens
Dr. Steve Iona reports on student-led physics demos
For over 20 years the Department of Physics and Astronomy has shared physics demonstrations at Elitch Gardens Amusement Park. During most of these years, undergraduate students have been the demonstrators, engaging park guests in various physics activities.
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) (Dr. Mark Siemens, society sponsor) and students from general physics classes (Dr. Steve Iona, Course Instructor) have spent the day engaging with and showing visitors aspects of physics. This year, the students interacted with over 300 park guests on Opening Day.
