Enhancing Resilience in Savanna Ecosystems (E-RISE)
Working with DU students and agrarian communities in the Ghanaian savannas, this project is examining how to enhance the resilience of food systems in the face of climate change. Special focus is placed on seed security, water security, climate information services, the on-farm biodiversity of crops, and how farmers apply local knowledge to limit the impacts of increased climate variability. Fieldwork involves an innovative combination of methods including in-depth interviews, surveys, environmental theater, participatory 3-D mapping, and scenario planning.
