Senior undergraduate students Dawson Hewatt won the Outstanding Student Award, in recognition of his excellence in the areas of leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and service to the DU community, Leah Huzjak won the Summit Award, one of the DU's most prestigious awards honoring individuals or organizations for their continued efforts at DU. Congratulations!

After 29 years of service at DU, Prof. Stencel retired this year and became professor emeritus at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Thank you for all your contributions to our department and we are excited for the beginning of this new chapter.

Prof. Xin fan received the NSF CAREER award for spintronics research

The Ghosh lab was recently awarded a NIH RO1 grant for decoding hidden mathematical features that dictate rules of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins.

Prof. Mark Siemens in collaboration with Prof. Mark Lusk from Colorado School of Mines received $1M grant from the prestigious W. M. Keck Foundation to conduct research on quantum computing.
